Methodology
Meeting information with a clear evidence trail.
CivMeet organizes information published by public agencies. Every indexed meeting points back to an official source so visitors can confirm the record for themselves.
Find the official record
We map the meeting calendars, agenda portals, minutes archives, notices, and recording pages maintained by each covered public body.
Verify before publishing
Dates, times, locations, document availability, and public-participation instructions are checked against the responsible agency.
Track changes
Special meetings, cancellations, rescheduled meetings, and late agenda postings can change quickly. CivMeet displays a verification date and directs visitors to recheck the official source.
Keep claims narrow
Draft minutes are not presented as final. Recaps are not treated as official minutes. Votes appear only when documented by an authoritative record.
Coverage states
Meeting indexed means at least one dated meeting or notice from that organization appears in the explorer. Official source mapped is reserved for an organization whose official meeting location is known but whose dated record cannot be verified without guessing.
Complete does not mean invented
Cancellations, reschedules, continued meetings, and records with no published documents remain visible. If an agency has not posted an agenda, minutes, or recording, CivMeet states that publication gap and keeps the official collection one click away.
Source authority
CivMeet is a navigation and public-information layer. It does not replace the clerk, agency, or official meeting record. When information differs, the official agency controls.
